North of Normal is where I share notes from my outlier life. Think of it as my running commentary on everything from entrepreneurship and business, to accountability, to starting over after 50 (or maybe beginning for the first time on purpose). It’s also about the messier parts: living with mental illness, raising a granddaughter with PDA and autism, and everything in between.

These notes are, essentially, the story of me. The things that matter, written down so they’re real now…and maybe just as real in twenty years. Notes that help me move forward on purpose, look back with clarity (and less regrets), and sometimes even find humor around the sharp edges.

I write to my younger self (the one who was always waiting for a really good reason to get out of bed in the morning) and I listen for the wisdom of my future self, whispering ‘hey girl’ across the wrinkles of time. Journaling has become my survival tactic and a way to wake up and live life more fully.

So, if you’re the kind of person who doesn’t mind reading over my shoulder and laughing with me, welcome.

While you are here, you might as well grab a notebook and pen. Your future self will thank you.
